Press and media
About the RPS
The Royal Photographic Society is the United Kingdom's leading photography organisation and is well-placed to provide informed comment to the media on many different aspects of photography, photographers and issues surrounding photography.
We can, of course, provide information on our own 150-year history and activities.
We have media-trained staff and members with wide experience of photography and specialist knowledge of particular areas.
We have an extensive membership with expertise across all aspects of photography, photographic science and image-making, and can easily locate an appropriate expert.
We have recently provided national newspaper, specialist photographic press, live BBC television and radio comment on issues including art, science, photographers' rights, historical and recently deceased photographers, and the future of photography.
We have supported programmes such as Who Do you Think You Are?, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and BBC dramas on subjects as wide-ranging as the Loch Ness monster, photographic studios and nineteenth-century photographic practice.
